Bright Lights

Leaving home on a London bus,
Leaving home just the two of us.
Off to London, to start a new life,
Off to London, with you as my wife.
New start, a brand new place,
New start, but a faster pace.
All alone with only one friend,
All alone, with no money to spend.
Bright lights that have brought us here,
Bright lights that hide the fear.
Where is it safe you never can tell?
Where is it safe, within that hell?
Begging for money on the street,
Begging for money, so we can eat.
Looking for work from hell to heaven,
Looking for work 24-7.
Attracted by bright lights and streets of gold,
Attracted by bright lights but not the cold.
Same story as many, a great big error,
Same story as many, full of terror.
Bright lights the big city,
Bright lights are not so pretty
Better off staying at home,
Better off you wont be alone,
Stay at home with all your mates,
Stay at home before it's to late.
